Nature's Impressions
a very special workshop

with Leighanna Light and Leslie Marsh

May 17 - 20, 2019

at the home studio of Leighanna Light
in beautiful Taos, New Mexico

$975 after February 1

I am thrilled to announce Nature’s Impressions, a five-day retreat focusing on bookmaking, eco dyeing, soldering and surface design with Leslie Marsh and Leighanna Light in beautiful, historic Taos, New Mexico.

Join us as we design and create metalworked covers, and explore different techniques for making prints and textures on papers that will be folded and stitched into rich leather-spined metal books. Leighanna and Leslie will guide you through several treatments for both your covers and your papers. Each participant will leave the workshop with a quiver full of skills and TWO finished books.

May is a spectacular time in Taos! The air is still slightly cool and everything is fresh and blooming. New Mexico received its nickname, ‘The Land of Enchantment’, because of its natural beauty, rich history and vibrant culture. The people, their heritage and traditions, their skills and their arts, and the land, its awesome beauty, all make New Mexico the unique and colorful place that it is today.

We hope that you will join us for this creative learning experience, and  enjoy the beauty and splendor of this beautiful land that we call Taos!
We would love for you to join us for this week long art retreat for a rich, immersive, creative, week long experience.

Book artist and teacher Leslie Marsh is driven by her love of nature and a fascination for cultural and family history. Using metal, stones and vintage findings, she forges relic-like book covers that call to mind medieval treasure bindings created during the Middle Ages.
